The Saturday Afternoon Man Shoe
The ease of an afternoon. The beginning of a story.

01 / 2012
The first chapter.
Introduced in 2012, The Saturday Afternoon Man Shoe began with an observation: men around the world moving naturally between relaxed and dressed-up moments, without giving up a style of their own.
Camille Tanoh translated that ease into a desert boot for an afternoon that could continue into the evening. A relaxed silhouette, made to move with the person wearing it.
Developed with Hakan Sezer.
Studies in form
Three drawings from the design archive explore different constructions and ways of fastening an ankle boot.

02 / Form & detail
A relaxed line.
An ankle-height profile. A single-eyelet fastening. Leather laces and a crepe sole. The design holds its shape with few elements, leaving room for the material to speak.
Handcrafted in Portugal, the early collection paired the familiarity of a chukka with an understated, rounded form.
03 / Material & colour
One shape, different expressions.
The archive records leather and suede versions in the first years, followed by suede, nubuck and leather in the Spring/Summer 2014 preview. Colour changes the character of the shoe while its outline remains recognisable.

04 / Encounters
A life beyond the studio.
Camille Tanoh recalls Jean Paul Gaultier wearing The Saturday Afternoon Man Shoe for his closing bow at a runway show.
For Spring/Summer 2015, Camille Tanoh also collaborated with the Japanese label nonnative on footwear.
