The Monday Morning Man Shoe

A way to begin. A rhythm of one’s own.

01 / The 2015 campaign

A morning, made personal.

In the 2015 campaign, The Monday Morning Man Shoe turns the beginning of the week into a study of character. The hour of waking becomes a small declaration: a way to enter the day at one’s own pace.

An inscription links the shoe to On Kawara’s I Got Up series. Time becomes part of the object, carried close to the wearer.

02 / Form & detail

The gesture before the day.

A black lace-up shoe, seen in movement and at rest. The rounded toe, low heel and substantial sole give the silhouette its balance. In the film, the simple act of tying a lace becomes part of the story.

The Fall/Winter 2015 collection was documented in black nappa, black suede and black patent leather, handcrafted in Portugal.

03 / The film

A city. Several lives.

Directed by Loren Denis, the black-and-white film moves between streets, rooftops and the waterfront. Gesture, light and music draw its characters together, while each keeps a distinct presence.

The 2015 date identifies this campaign. Monocle had already previewed the named shoe in March 2013.

An enduring chapter.

The Monday Morning Man Shoe remains part of the Maison’s footwear story: an object considered through the life around it.
