Before a garment is worn, it is often encountered through paper. A tag turns in the hand, a cord is untied, a label is read at the neck. These small pieces introduce the object at a scale very different from the silhouette.
The archive follows that introduction closely. Cream cards carry the script signature of The Proper Label; dark MLS tags sit beside them. A woven Matchday Edition label brings the same family of details into the garment itself. Their placement matters as much as their appearance.
Paper and cloth respond differently to print. The card offers a flat surface and a defined edge. The woven label moves with its seam. Against a quilted lining, the tag is temporary, while the stitched signature remains. The photographs let those different roles be seen together.
For the House, finishing includes this last passage from the working room to the person receiving the piece. The collection's language has to remain legible when it becomes small: on a folded card, beneath a collar, or at the end of a thread.
