The feel
Supple calf leather with a smooth surface and a subtle natural grain. The leather softens with wear; gentle creasing and changes in lustre become part of the character of the pair.

How to measure your feetFit notes
Fit and comfort
True to EU size: choose your usual EU shoe size. The foot should feel held across the instep, with room for the toes to move and no pinching at the sides. The supple calf leather softens with wear; a painful fit is not a fit to break in.
Everyday wear
A loafer for everyday city dressing, from relaxed denim to tailoring. Begin with shorter wears to let the leather settle around the foot. A leather sole can feel smooth on polished or wet surfaces; take care with your footing and avoid soaking the pair.
Between sizes or unsure about width? Share the length of both feet, your usual EU size and the socks you plan to wear with the Atelier for personal guidance.
How to measure your feet
- Stand on paper with your heel gently against a wall.
- Mark your longest toe. Measure A from the wall to this mark.
- Measure both feet, standing. Keep the longer measurement.
Measure both feet while standing, with the socks you intend to wear. Keep the longer length. Send the Atelier this measurement and your usual EU size for individual guidance.

Care & longevity
A few considered gestures help the calf leather keep its suppleness and the shoe retain its shape.
Remove the dust
After wearing, brush away loose dust with a soft shoe brush, then wipe gently with a clean, dry cloth. For a light surface mark, use a barely damp cloth without soaking the leather, then let it dry naturally.
Nourish sparingly
When the leather feels dry, apply a small amount of a care product suitable for smooth calf leather to a cloth. Test first on a discreet area, follow the product instructions, and finish with a clean soft cloth. Avoid household cleaners and abrasive products.
Let the pair rest
Allow damp shoes to dry at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sunlight. Let the leather rest between wears. Use well-fitting shoe trees to support the shape, and store the fully dry pair in its protective pouch.
Look after the sole
Check the leather sole and heel regularly. Ask a trusted cobbler about wear before it reaches the upper, and discuss any protective sole or repair with the Atelier. Avoid prolonged contact with water.
For a stain, treatment or repair question, send the Atelier a clear photograph of the affected area before applying a new product.
The designer’s notes
A quiet point of balance between tailoring and ease. Leave room through the leg, keep the hem deliberate and let the black leather give the silhouette its final line.

All orders ship from the United States.
Orders placed before 12:00 PM EST will ship the same business day.
Orders placed after 12:00 PM EST will ship the following business day.
Orders placed after 5:00 PM EST on Friday or during the weekend will be processed and shipped the following Monday.
Please note that holidays are not considered business days.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email confirming that we have received your returned item.
We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

Please note that refunds can take up to 10 working days to appear on your account due to varying processing times between payment providers.

United States and Canada
If your order was sent to a destination within the United States or Canada, all sales taxes will be refunded.
Orders Outside the United States and Canada
Customs duties and sales taxes are non-refundable through The Proper Label. However, you may be able to recover these amounts by contacting your local customs bureau or by hiring a customs broker.
Australia
If your order was sent to Australia, you will receive a refund of duties and Goods and Services Tax (GST).

- Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, or is missing parts for reasons not due to our error;
