STANDARD 100 | BY OEKO-TEX ®
To attain the global STANDARD 100 | BY OEKO-TEX ® certification, fabric must be tested to determine it is free from more than 100 substances known to be harmful to humans. The certification is not required. The Proper Label voluntarily pursues it. STANDARD 100 | BY OEKO-TEX ® does not indicate a fabric is organic. But don’t worry, our textile is made from organic cotton. The criteria for Oeko-Tex ® testing is reviewed every year, so they’re always up-to-date with harmful substances that could possibly enter the body.

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
Your skin is permeable, so if you’re wearing clothes that have been processed with harmful chemicals, those chemicals can be absorbed into your body. You should always wash new clothes before you wear them, but the Oeko-Tex ® certification is our guarantee that your new clothes have been processed without harmful chemicals. Every part of the garment—stitching, zips, buttons, and coatings—have been tested. That’s The Proper Way.

Oeko-Tex certified fabrics are required to have a skin friendly pH. If you remember your high school chemistry, pH is the indication of the level of acidity or base (salt). Skin's natural pH is a tad acidic, and when it's eroded your defenses are down, leaving you vulnerable to bacteria, moisture loss, and irritation. Oeko-Tex ® certified fabrics will not create any of these stresses and will feel comfortable on your skin.
